Lara McIvor, Z-Three Sales Manager, sleeps rough for charity
September 15, 2010 - Value added distributor Z-Three's Lara McIvor is leaving behind the high powered, high pressure life of a sales manager to sleep rough to raise awareness of, and cash for, homeless children as part of the tech industry fundraiser, Byte Night
She will be amongst 700 people sleeping on the night of October 8, 2010, on the streets of London, to raise awareness and cash for Action for Children, which aims to tackle the root causes of youth homelessness. Money raised by Byte Night will help keep thousands of young people off the streets, building better lives with secure accommodation, education and training opportunities.
Lara is hoping to raise well in excess of the minimum £2,000 from friends and colleagues for the charity.
Company director, Philipp Gutzwiller, said: “We always knew that we could rely on Lara to go above and beyond the call of duty. When our team heard about this challenge, we knew she would find it hard to resist. And we’ll be behind her all the way.”
Lara is the Sales Manager for UK and Ireland and has been with Z-Three for two months. She said:
“Byte Night is a terrific initiative. Our night of discomfort is insignificant compared to the discomfort and inconvenience of real homelessness experienced by 75 thousand young people last year alone, but it’s great that the tech industry can pull together like this.”
