This fall, iOS 16 will again change the way one billion people use their iPhone. Apple on Monday gave the world the first look at the new update at WWDC, and developers will be able to download a beta version today and get started. In a few weeks, a public beta will let you test it যদিও although you should expect some bugs and missing features, proceed with caution.
There Dozens New features and changes are coming to iOS 16, but these are the big-ticket items that have excited us the most.
Lock screen customization
The new breakout feature of iOS 16 is the new lock screen, which allows you to customize the look and information in a way you have never done before. Images automatically have a depth effect that allows subjects to overlap time and other information. You can customize the font and color for the date and time and add info widgets like your calendar, activity ring and widgets.
Apple has also added special dynamic wallpapers, such as weather wallpapers with an animation that changes with the current situation and you can set up multiple different lock screens and swipe between them to change them.

Notification and focus improvement
Of course, if your fancy new custom lock screen is flooded with notifications, it’s not too valuable, so Apple has changed the way alerts come. You will now see a stack of rolling notifications from the bottom of the screen that updates as new notifications arrive.
But it is the Live Activities API for developers that will make the biggest difference. Developers can create a single notification that is dynamically updated during a live event or breaking news, instead of receiving a new notification (such as tracking a sports score, food distribution, or Uber ride) instead of changing information from an app every time.
Focus mode is also getting a big expansion, expanding across your iPhone experience. Your custom lock screen with photos and widgets can be combined in a specific focus mode. Focus mode can also change your home screen, showing apps and widgets that match the mode you’re in. Even apps like Siri, Messages and Calendar can be matched to your focus mode just to show you the things you need to see. Moment.

A completely new dictation mode
Dictation is an incredible way to quickly “type” the text you want to type into the iPhone, but it has its limitations. With iOS 16, it’s getting a huge boost.
To get started, the new dictation mode keeps the keyboard open, allowing you to switch between typing and speaking fluently. You can even use touch to select text and then talk to replace it. What’s more, automatic punctuation will always help you in multiple sentences without saying anything like “period” and “exclamation point”. And you can point to emojis too!
If you don’t use regular notation, it may be an update that changes your mind about it.

Advanced sharing features
Apple is going big sharing again. We’ve got important new sharing features in iOS 15 and they’re being rolled out to iOS 16.
Perhaps the most acclaimed change is the new iCloud Shared Photo Library. This is a brand new, separate photo library that anyone in your family sharing group can access. Everyone can choose which of their own photos to add to it, and everyone in the group has the same permission to add, delete, and edit photos. You can choose to automatically add pictures to this shared library whenever you’re close to other people in the shared group, and the Camera app will have a handy toggle for sending pictures right there.
Apple makes it easy for kids to set up accounts. There is a simple interface to adjust all parental controls and permissions based on age, including timely reminders for things like adjusting these permissions. You can set up a new device for a child’s account by bringing it closer to your iPhone and choosing who the device is for and the device will be set up for them with control of all existing parents.
SharePlay message is also coming. This means you don’t have to use FaceTime to watch a video or listen to music together – you can instead type in each other’s messages while the shareplay content sits in a floating window.

Messages get great editing features
Don’t you hate it when you send an iMessage and realize you have typed a dumb one? Instead of sending other messages to correct yourself, iOS 16 messages will allow you to edit recently sent messages. Or if you think you shouldn’t say something, you can delete it altogether.
You’ll also be able to mark a message thread as unread, so remember to go back to it later. This is useful for those who read their messages as they arrive, but want to reply if they have more time.
