Live text in iOS 15 / iPadOS 15 lets you turn text into something you can copy and paste into objects viewed via the Camera app almost instantly on your iPhone or iPad. Apple also offers other types of content identifiers, the most useful of which is a phone number.
For an iPhone XS / XR model or later, or with a recent-sufficient iPad (see list), follow these steps:
- In the Camera app, point to a printed object or any text in the display that contains a phone number.
- When circular yellow-orange angles surround the text in question, tap 7 Live text Button, which looks like text in rounded corners.
- There will be a gray underline at the bottom of a phone number Tap.
- From the menu that appears, tap Call [phone number] If the number is correct.
