Apple makes three types of MacBook Pro: a 13in model that will be upgraded with the M2 chip (going on sale in July); A 14in MacBook Pro with an M1 Pro or M1 Max chip, and a 16in MacBook Pro, also with an M1 Pro or M1 Max chip. Half the challenge is deciding which to buy, the other challenge is to find somewhere with the MacBook Pro in stock.
Since their launch in October 2021, stocks of the 14in and 16in MacBook Pro have been limited, possibly due to the global component shortage impact combined with the Covid-19 epidemic-related shipping problems. Now that the M2 13in MacBook Pro is going to go on sale, we expect similar shipping issues to lead to a stock shortage for that model.
You may not be able to buy the M2 13in MacBook Pro right now, but there are stockists in the United States and the United Kingdom who have 14in and 16in MacBook Pros for sale, and you may be able to buy an M1 MacBook Pro until the stock runs out. Outside of that model. Some resellers are even discounting the MacBook Pro!
We’ve found resellers with 13in, 14in and 16in MacBook Pro in stock so you can buy one if you want.
We have a separate article on where to find the best deals on a MacBook Pro.

Where can I buy M2 13in MacBook Pro?
You can’t buy one right now. The M2 13in MacBook Pro will go on sale in July. We expect that the stock will be limited when it is sold, but we expect that there will be many resellers who will have stock – even some who will offer discounts.
The Apple M2 MacBook Pro may offer pre-orders for sale closer to the scheduled time. At the moment we don’t know when this will happen except for the vague “next month” (which was July at the time of writing!).
